Episode 238 - Dave Frisina

Dave Frisina is a veteran radio professional with over 40 years of experience. Originally from Western New York and grew up on Long Island, Dave discovered his passion for radio while studying at SUNY Cortland. He began his career at WAQX (95X) in Syracuse in 1978, where he spent 25 years, rising to become Program Director and Music Director, while creating the long-running local music show, Soundcheck.

He later held leadership and on-air roles at WTKW (TK99), WXTL (The Rebel) and also hosted Classic Rock PM Drive on the Westwood One Network. After launching his acclaimed AAA hybrid show Soulshine in 2012, Dave continues to stream it independently each week on Live365 and Mixcloud.

Dave was inducted into the Syracuse Area Music Hall of Fame in 1994, received the SAMMY Lifetime Achievement Award in 2018, and has been nominated multiple times for Billboard and R&R Magazine awards. He now resides in Rainbow Springs, Florida, where he volunteers as a Boat Captain and serves on the Board of Directors for Friends of Rainbow Springs State Park.
