Episode 178 - Jershika Maple

Born in Shreveport, Louisiana Jershika Maple began her journey and love for singing at a young age in the children’s choir at her church. Being in a Military family gave Jershika the chance to expand her musical ear by experiencing different cultures, genres, and styles of music in all parts of the world. She eventually planted her feet in Killeen, Texas where she currently resides and serves as a worship leader, singer, songwriter, actor and vocal coach.

Jershika’s accolades include touring, traveling and working with national and international artists showcasing her gift as a background singer, such artists include, Grammy and Stellar Award Winner John P. Kee, Grammy Nominated Zacardi Cortez, Amber Bullock, and, most recently singing bgvs for Rose Short, who was Season 17’s Top 4 Finalist on The Voice, which led her into her own journey to audition for Season 21 of NBC’s The Voice, where she became a Top 5 Finalist on the show with Team Legend. This opportunity also landed her a #10 Spot on Billboard Top 100 Gospel Digital Sales Chart with the performance of “God Only Knows” on the show. Jershika has also starred in four stage plays in the Texas area.

Jershika released her first single “Let God Take You Higher” in 2019, followed by the release of “I Give” in May of 2021, produced by Dove Award Nominee David “D1” Grant Jr.

Her current single, a cover of the late Natalie Cole’s “Inseparable” is now rising on the Jazz Charts.

Jershika’s sultry and raspy sound is invited by jazz undertones and gospel soul roots mixed with an amazing range.
