Episode 207 - Mic Smith
Hailing from Northern California, Western Rock/Storyteller Mic Smith brings acoustic soulful narratives from his journeys on the road, accompanied by a gritty rock sound that embodies the raw essence of life. His influences range from Led Zeppelin, Chris Cornell, Alice in Chains, Bob Seger, BB King, Johnny Cash, Stevie Ray Vaughn and Pink Floyd. Upon acquiring his first guitar in his early 20s, Mic kick started his musical career in Kansas City, MO, making his solo acoustic debut as a self-taught musician in various biker and dive bars across the Midwest.
In 2009, Mic resided in South Lake Tahoe, CA. He initially started as a snowboarding instructor, but by 2014, had transitioned into a full-time musician. Mic entertained audiences with both original compositions and cover songs, performing around the lake and up and down the West Coast.
Mic had a sold out release party for his debut album in The Loft Tahoe. He has mesmerized audiences at two TEDx events, opened for American Idol Winner Lee Dewyze, wrote “BlackBird Song” for The Walking Dead, had radio airplay on rock stations (Reno’s 104.5 and Sacramento’s 98.5) and plays frequently at the Viper Room in West Hollywood. Over the last four years, he has found joy in recording and releasing his original music while embarking on extended motorcycle tours across the country, covering up to 6,000 miles at a time. During these adventures, he indulges in camping, writing, performing, and sharing his music with audiences throughout the states.
Since April 2022, Mic has resided in East Nashville, Tennessee. He proudly serves as a member of Whiskey Jam/Roadshow Entertainment and as the lead singer of ‘Silence The Static,’ featured in Season 1 of ‘Banded’ on AXS TV. September marked the release of his new single “Welcome To The Party”, an exhilarating rock anthem.
