Episode 223 - Keith Harrison

Keith Harrison is a versatile musician with a rich history in the music industry. He began his career as a keyboardist and vocalist with Faze-O, a band based in Dayton, Ohio. Keith’s contributions to Faze-O include writing their biggest hit, “Riding High,” which has become one of the most sampled songs in rap history, featured in tracks by artists like Snoop Dogg and Ice Cube.

In 1980, Keith joined the band Heatwave, where he performed and recorded on two albums: “Candles” and “Current”. His presence within the band highlighted his musical prowess and further established him as a respected artist in the music industry.

Keith is best known for his tenure with the Dazz Band, where he served as a keyboardist and vocalist from 1982 to 1988, before returning to the band in 2020. During his time with the Dazz Band, Keith contributed significantly to their success as a songwriter, with credits on several of their songs, including “Let It All Blow,” which became their biggest UK single.

In addition to “Let It All Blow,” Keith’s songwriter credits with the Dazz Band include tracks like “Paranoid,” “So Much Love,” “Give Me Your Body,” and “Time Will Heal a Broken Heart.” He also contributed to 5 Dazz Band albums: Joystick, Jukebox, Hot Spot (Motown), Wild & Free (Geffen) and Rock the Room (RCA).
