Episode 239 - Zach Day

If you listen closely in the Appalachian coal mines of southeastern Kentucky, you may hear the stories and the songs of Zach Day. A self proclaimed “yallternative” artist, Zach often skipped school to hone his skills on the guitar and develop his songwriting, drawing deeply from the storytelling traditions of his rural surroundings.

His music, which blends alternative sounds with the roots of his Appalachian upbringing, has taken him to major venues across the globe. Zach has toured with notable artists such as Makenzie Thomas, Overcoats, and Suzy Jones representing his unique and often spellbinding songs at each and every show. His talent also caught the attention of a national audience when he was featured on Season 18 of The Voice as a member of John Legend’s Team, further cementing his place in the music world.
