Episode 58 - Kimberly Davis

Kimberly Davis was born in Brooklyn and her mom was the background singer for Motown music legend, Smokey Robinson. “My mother played music 24/7. I’ve been singing since I could talk.” says Kimberly.
 
In high school, she joined an all-girl group. Sensing her own potential and feeling restricted within the group, Kimberly made a choice to push forward as a solo artist. Kimberly made the hard choice of putting her singing career on hold for 17 years to become a mom. Her son, now grown and out on his own, Kimberly turned up her passion knob to 100°. Her first single – “Get Up“ from D1 music – reached #12 on the Billboard dance club charts. Her next single, “Twist Of Love“, was played by over 200 radio stations, debuting at #41 on Billboard’s Hot Club Play Chart. After a few weeks, it skyrocketed to #9 where it remained for four more weeks.
 
But as they say, third times the charm! Her single, “With You”, landed her the #4 spot on the Billboard’s Dance Club Charts. Most recently, Kimberly‘s unique vocal prowess was brought, once again, to the world by producer Tony Moran and Nile Rodgers with the #1 chart topper, “My Fire”. “Life Is A Dancefloor”, by The Shapeshifters, is her third consecutive #1 international smash.
 
Kimberly is now a lead singer for the world-famous band Chic featuring Nile Rodgers, glows under the international spotlight, audiences on every continent respond to Kimberly‘s exceptional vocal prowess.
